Janice hailed over bravery in Cosby trial

- BY PATRICK HILL

JANICE Dickinson has been praised for her key role in helping to convict Bill Cosby of sex offences.

The former model, 63, was one of 62 women to publicly accuse the 80-year-old US comedian.

Only one, Andrea Constand, was able to bring charges but Janice and others supported her case by telling in court how he attacked them.

It helped secure a guilty verdict in court in Pennsylvania this week. He now faces up to 30 years’ jail.

Janice’s lawyer Lisa Bloom said: “Janice and these brave women had to put up with a lot of hate to get to this point.

“Thanks to their bravery he was convicted. I expect a lot more of his victims to come forward.”

After dozens of allegations of sexual assault, a mistrial caused by a hung jury and a lot of mud-slinging, American TV legend Bill Cosby was finally found guilty this week of three counts of drugging and molesting one young woman.

The actor, who is now 80, could end his life in prison. He has vowed to appeal but might yet face a 10-year sentence.

It’s hard to believe that this giant of the small screen, who seemed totally indistinguishable from his TV role as the funny, big-hearted dad we all wanted, was a scheming monster in real life.

But that’s the lesson we all need to learn in the age of #MeToo – never blur the lines of fantasy and reality.
