Join us on our March for Men

-

SINCE diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer in November 2014 I have realised how lucky I am to still be undertaking mega challenges like the 6633 Arctic Ultra and Marathon des Sables in Morocco.

The reasons I push myself up to and sometimes beyond the limit are both for my own sanity and, more importantly, for families everywhere as I do them all for awareness and raising essential funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

I have raised over £100,000 for a great cause. But what’s more emotional and humbling is that I inspired hundreds of friends, colleagues and passing acquaintances to do events and they have raised even more.

Next month I will do seven walking marathons with 200

Royal Bank of Scotland colleagues – in

Newcastle, Leeds,

Sheffield, Manchester

(twice!), Preston and

Liverpool.

They came up with the idea themselves. Yet most will have never completed 26.2 miles on foot and will suffer aches, pains, chafing and blisters for a cause that will probably (thankfully) not have affected them.

There will be no crowds cheering them on, no amazing finish up The Mall. But there will be pure satisfaction that they have done something that between them will raise tens of thousands of pounds to help stop prostate cancer being a killer and destroyer of families once and for all.

You can do your bit for this great cause by either staging your own event or joining one of the many upcoming “Marches for Men” organised by Prostate Cancer UK. Please visit prostatecanceruk. org/get-involved/march-for-men

Because I’d love you to be part of something amazing with me. Until next week. Kev
