LIAM LATE SHOW RAISES THE BAR

- At the KCOM Stadium

WIGAN moved to within six points of leaders St Helens after beating Hull in a dramatic finale.

The visitors went for a drop goal to win the game, but when the ball rebounded off the crossbar, they caught Hull napping to score a try through Liam Marshall and end their three-game losing streak.

Hull missed out on the chance to return to the top four after coming from 8-0 down to lead 10-8 with 10 minutes left.

Both sides were prepared to throw the ball around early on and Wigan went close when Tom Davies was bundled into touch before he could ground the ball.

The Warriors took the lead on 25 minutes, when George Williams’ kick was grounded by Dan Sarginson. Sam Tomkins made it 6-0 with the conversion.

And Tomkins was on target on the half-hour mark when he added a penalty to make it 8-0. ENGLAND duo Stefan Ratchford and Chris Hill line up for Warrington before jetting to Denver for the Test match with New Zealand.

Batchelor. Hull’s attack often let them down, but when they clicked, it worked a treat as Bureta Faraimo powered through to score.

Jake Connor, called up for England’s mid-season Test against New Zealand in Denver, obliged to make it 8-6 before half-time.

The second half began with a thunderstorm but that didn’t unsettle Hull.

A flowing move was finished by Faraimo and Hull went in front 10-8.

But Hull’s problems mounted when they conceded a penalty and Tomkins drew level with 10 minutes to play.

Then in a bizarre twist, Tomkins’ drop goal rebounded off the bar, and Marshall was able to glide over the line. JOEL TOMKINS is set to start his road to redemption with a Hull KR debut just two weeks after his video nasty.
