Three men stabbed in row at pub
Suspected murder bid arrests
THREE men were stabbed in an altercation outside a pub in the early hours of yesterday.
A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident in Ballycarry, Co Antrim, around 1am.
Two men in their 30s and a man in his 60s were treated for stab wounds after the incident near Whitehead. Their injuries are not believed to be life- threatening.
The 31-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, who were arrested at the scene, are in police custody.
A PSNI spokesman said: “Detective Sergeant Miller is appealing for anyone who was in the area of Main Street and who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Ballymena on 101 quoting reference 87 11/08/18. “Alternatively, information can also be provided to the
independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
Meanwhile, a man and woman appeared in court charged with a number of alleged offences, including conspiracy to supply drugs.
It comes after a police operation which was carried out in the South Belfast area on Thursday.
More than £1million worth of cannabis was seized during the investigation with the 37-year-old woman arrested in Stranmillis and a man, aged 48, held in the Lisburn Road area. Detective Inspector Pete Mullan said: “These arrests and seizures are evidence of our ongoing commitment to disrupting the illegal supply of drugs in Northern Ireland.
“We are glad to have essentially have taken £1million from the hands of organised criminals who profit from the misery of others.”
The pair appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged with possessing class B drugs with intent to supply, conspiracy to supply class B drugs and possession of a false identity.
