Three people injured in late night stabbing
Two men and a woman in hospital after altercation
THREE people were injured in a violent incident, the PSNI confirmed yesterday.
Two men were stabbed and a woman suffered a head injury in the altercation at Percy Street in the Shankill Road area of West Belfast.
Police said they received a report of a disturbance late on Friday.
A spokesman added yesterday: “We received a report at 11.30pm last night that a number of people had been injured following an incident on the street outside a property in the Percy Street area.
“A 21-year-old man sustained two stab wounds to the back, a 19-year-old man received stab wounds to his side and shoulder and a woman in her 30s suffered a head injury.
“All three were taken to hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw what happened to get in touch with detectives at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1570 of 12/10/18.”
Images from the scene showed forensics personnel inspecting the area around a terraced house. An empty drink bottle can be seen.
Progressive Unionist Party leader Billy Hutchinson said: “I believe both a male and female are currently receiving medical treatment.
“It is unclear at this time if the injuries sustained are life-threatening or changing.
“The circumstances which led to this altercation are also unclear. Our thoughts are with the families affected.”
The police said any witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
