Eriksen eyes Juve on free

- EXCLUSIVE BY SIMON MULLOCK

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is ready to run down his contract at Tottenham in order to get a free transfer to Juventus next summer.

The Denmark midfielder is desperate to get out of north London, with Real Madrid or Juventus his preferred destinations.

Eriksen has been offered a new mega contract by Spurs, but his refusal to sign it is infuriating chairman Daniel Levy. We understand

that Levy found out about Eriksen’s Italian plan just a few days ago.

Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots has strong ties with Juventus.

The Dutchman used to live in the northern Italian city, is a fluent Italian speaker and has strong relationships with club officials in both Turin and Milan.

Schoots is now living just across the border in Monaco for tax reasons.

AC Milan and Inter cannot meet the wage demands of Eriksen, who only wants to move to a club capable of winning the Champions League in the next few years.

He also wants to add other trophies to his name.

His career started off well at Ajax where he won three Eredivisie league titles and the Dutch Cup.

But since his £12million move to Spurs in 2013, he has not won a single piece of silverware – except for Spurs player of the year.

The European transfer window closes tomorrow and there is still a chance that Eriksen will be sold.

Real Madrid have £130m to spend after being priced out of buying Paul Pogba and Neymar.

It would be no surprise if they made a cheeky bid of £30million to snap up £100m-rated Eriksen on the cheap at the 11th hour.
