NI Life & Style Tail end of sales
Idon’t know about you, but I spent a fortune over Christmas. It was the first one we spent in our own home (i.e. we didn’t travel to scrounge off the in-laws) and it was the first one where my little girl had a fraction of a clue about what was going on.
So we – mostly I – went all out. I mean, who knew turkeys were so expensive? True, by this stage in my life I should have known but thanks to said in-laws, I was in blissful ignorance!
Anyways, they are...and so are all the trimmings that go with it, and Christmas in general.
Christmas Eve was spent wrapping all the presents.
Christmas Day was spent opening and playing with all the presents.
And, for me, Boxing Day was spent worrying about how to pay for all the presents (and frantically searching for the receipt of ones that could be returned within 28 days i.e. before the credit card bill drops on the doormat).
However, for some Boxing Day wasn’t a time for financial reflection, it was a time to get out and spend more!
And the most hardened of these sale shoppers found themselves queueing outside the Next stores at 5am as they waited for the doors to open at 6!!!
The day after Christmas Day?! I’m sorry but no matter how good it is (and I’ve heard it’s goooood) you will never find me queueing outside Next at 5am.
Life’s too short for long queues, especially at this time of year. So I wait for everyone to go home. That’s when prices, and my stress levels, are at their lowest.
Here are some of the many bargains still available in some of my favourite high street stores.
Queue can thank me later...
