IRISH racing faces an anxious wait until Tuesday to learn whether it can make its coronavirus comeback on May 18 – or not until six weeks later.

Major racing nations have taken a step towards resuming, with Britain aiming at May 16, and the sport recommences at Churchill Downs in Kentucky the same day.

France Galop bosses plan a big-money card at Paris Longchamp a week tomorrow.

Varadkar’s ruling is crucial to eight-race card scheduled for the scheduling of the first three tomorrow was cancelled, by Irish Classics – the Irish 2,000 order of Chancellor Angela Guineas (May 23), Irish 1,000 Merkel.
