It’s tuft at the top for Boris baby Wilfred
BORIS Johnson’s fiancee gave the world its first glimpse of their baby yesterday – and revealed he has a full head of hair just like his dad.
Carrie Symonds released a photo of herself cradling the tufty-headed newborn on Instagram and announced he will be named in part after the two doctors who led the Prime Minister’s battle against Covid-19.
She wrote: “Introducing Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas born on 29.04.20 at 9am. Wilfred after Boris’ grandfather, Lawrie after my grandfather, Nicholas after Dr Nick Price and Dr Nick Hart – the two doctors that saved Boris’ life last month.”
Doctors Price and Hart offered their “warm congratulations” to the couple and said they were “honoured and humbled to have been recognised in this way”.
They added: “We give our thanks to the incredible team of professionals who we work with... and who ensure every patient receives the best care.”
Carrie, who got engaged to Boris over New Year, gave birth at London’s University College Hospital on Wednesday morning with the PM by her side, just days after he was released from medical care.
She added: “Thank you so, so much to the incredible NHS maternity team at UCLH that looked after us so well. I couldn’t be happier. My heart is full.” Hospital chief Professor Marcel Levi, also thanked the “skilled, dedicated and compassionate” teams who cared for Carrie and her baby.
It was revealed yesterday that Boris received a congratulatory phone call from Prince William on Friday, with a record of their conversation included as an official event in the Court Circular.
The family plan to live in Downing Street with dog Dilyn.
