Shauna is a luxury womenswear designer based in Newry, Co Down. She is renowned in the industry for creating stunning vintage couture-inspired dresses using exquisite fabrics. Most of her commissions are for occasionwear, and coming into what should be her busiest time season, Shauna is experiencing a very different wedding season this year.

She said: “With all events literally being cancelled overnight my business came to a standstill. At the beginning and up until last week I had put my skills to good use voluntarily making scrubs for our health care workers and now I have decided to make some fashion masks to help my business and family through this tough

time. I decided if we must wear face covering why can’t they be pretty and so this collection was born. Some masks have been based on some of my dress designs and some just on lovely fabrics.

“They are all hand and machine washable and have a cotton pocket inside if you wish to add a filter.”

The masks are priced between £12 and £22 and 10% of each sale goes to the Sabrina Ryan Foundation – a charity which is close to Shauna’s heart. She said: “I worked alongside Sabrina and her twin sister Donna when I was younger and myself and Sabrina shared a love for design, fashion and all things pretty.

“At the age of 27, she was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer that is most common in young non-smoking females.

“She was a truly inspriational girl who sadly lost her battle to cancer and the Sabrina Ryan Foundation was set up in her memory to help people experiencing the emotional and lifestyle effects of cancer treatment.”

All masks are available to buy from www.shaunafay.co.uk.
