Grief behind death leap of Liz’s ex Bing

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

LIZ Hurley’s ex Steve Bing leapt to his death while heartbroken over the death of his girlfriend.

Film director Bing, 55, jumped from a 27th floor in Los Angeles this week just before the first anniversary of her drug overdose death.

He had been planning a family with Allexanne Mitchum, 28, but they rowed and she overdosed.

Her aunt Carrie said Bing was feeling guilt over actress Allexanne, greatgranddaughter of film star Robert Mitchum.

Carrie, who introduced Bing and Allexanne, said that just before lockdown, “he told me they were talking of having a child”.

She added: “His eyes filled with tears and he said, ‘The guilt’. Allexanne had died on his watch.”

SMOKE billows from a tower block after a blaze that left 18 people needing medical attention yesterday.

Paramedics checked out 12 adults and six children for smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out in a ground floor five-bed flat at around 12.30pm.

Shocked residents watched from a nearby patch of grass as fire crews tackled the blaze in Kennington, South London.

Station Commander Ned Alexander said: “Firefighters have been working exceptionally hard to get this flat fire under control.

“The whole of the first floor flat is damaged but crews have managed to prevent it spreading further.

“Around 100 people self evacuated from the building and a number of others stayed within their flats.”

A spokesman added: “The flat fire in Kennington is under control... A flat on the first floor was badly damaged.”

In 2017, 72 people died in a fire at London’s Grenfell Tower.
