Boris is wrong on lockdown reckon 6 in 10
Oh hum all ye faithful..
NEARLY six in 10 voters believe Boris Johnson is relaxing lockdown too early.
And more than half have written off this year to Covid-19 and are not planning to book any holidays.
A Sunday Mirror poll of 2,000 voters by Redfield & Wilton shows eight in 10 back the Leicester lockdown.
But 45 per cent have no confidence in the PM’s steps to prevent a second wave against 36 per cent who think they are adequate.
Seven in 10 are bracing themselves for another outbreak – while 58 per cent blame those who do not follow lockdown rules if there is one.
Although 51 per cent have abandoned holidays this year, 25 per cent intend to go on a UK staycation with only 17 per cent aiming to go abroad.
A third are most looking forward to going to the hairdressers, next to seeing family and friends, while 17 per cent chose the pub.
I came to Greece by back route because I had to have a haircut
CHURCHGOERS may end up humming hymns after being banned from singing.
As places of worship reopen, congregations have been told to sit in alternate pews and not pass round a collection plate or sing hymns to avoid spreading Covid-19.
The Rev Lucy Winkett, rector of St James’s in London’s Piccadilly, said: “We can’t sing hymns but there will be some instrumental music and there is a possibility we might hum things together.”
PRIME Minister’s dad Stanley Johnson yesterday laughed off the row over his trip to Greece, chuckling: “Hey ho, it’s drinks time.”
He made the quip to the Sunday Mirror before being snapped near a beach, with a towel and swim shorts.
The former Euro MP made light of the hoo-hah about his trip – he flew via Bulgaria to beat Greece’s ban on arrivals direct from the UK.
He also failed to apologise or show remorse for apparently breaking his son Boris’s guidelines on non-essential travel.
Mr Johnson, 79, enjoyed wine and a slap-up dinner with the local mayor on Friday. And he found time for a haircut – a day before salons reopened in Britain.
His Instagram page was flooded with negative comments after he posted a snap from his trip. But he told the Mirror he
SPIKE Quim Torra
PORTUGAL’S tourism bosses yesterday said they were left bewildered by a refusal to include the country on the UK’s list of 74 quarantine-free destinations.
It is thought the Government’s decision was due to a spike in Covid-19 cases suffered around Lisbon last month.
But Joao Fernandes, of the Algarve Tourism Board, called the decision “unjust and penalising”.
To add to the confusion, the UK’s approved destinations list includes the Portuguese islands of Madeira and the Azores.
Antonio Pina of the Algarve Municipalities Association said: “We don’t understand. We haven’t got a single person in intensive care here due to coronavirus.”

PM’S DAD SHRUGS OFF TRIP ROW
Spain’s El Segria region near Barcelona were put under lockdown yesterday after 60 new Covid-19 cases were reported.
Catalonia’s president Quim Torra said: “We are taking a step back to protect ourselves and control the outbreak.”
