Black acting pioneer dies at age of 102
TRIBUTES have been paid to Earl Cameron, one of the first black actors to make it in British cinema, who has died aged 102.
His career began in 1951 with Pool Of London, credited as being the first UK film to feature an interracial relationship.
He later had parts in Bond movie Thunderball and Sidney Poitier’s 1973 film A Warm December.
Production firm StudioCanalUK said Cameron was one of the first “to break through the ‘colour bar’ of British cinema”.
