Rail boost as UK is back on track

- BY NEIL LANCEFIELD

RAIL services will increase today as demand grows with lockdown easing.

Tomorrow, Avanti West Coast will increase the number of trains per hour to and from London Euston from six to eight.

This will return the Manchester and Birmingham routes to three trains an hour.

There will also be more services between Holyhead and Crewe.

And extra trains will be operated by Southern at peak times from tomorrow.

Routes being boosted include Sutton to London Victoria via Selhurst, Victoria to Epsom, London Bridge to Crystal Palace via Sydenham and Clapham Junction to Milton Keynes.

London Bridge to Eastbourne and Chichester lines will see longer trains.

Passengers are told to wear face masks, which are on sale at stations.
