Silver linings notebook
Best way to brighten up your working from home day is with all things write and beautiful
There has been so much that has been hard about lockdown. Working from home is on the list...it’s a good bit down the list, but it’s there. In one way it is wonderful to not have to deal with the commute, to be able to do your work while in your PJs (and even in bed some days for me – and I bet I’m not the only one), and to spend more time with your family.
Four months in and it is still Yes to no commute and PJs but it’s a gigantic No to working alongside certain members of your family.
If you live alone or have no kids, I’m sure it’s great. You are super-productive, you get time to procrastinate, you get to make and drink a cup of coffee whenever you want.. bliss. When you have kids, you squeeze five hours’ work into the space of 25minutes, the only procrastinating going on is the three-year-old deciding what she wants for dinner (pasta, it’s ALWAYS pasta) and coffee? Ha! You daren’t go near the kitchen or you’ll be nabbed by kids, dogs, partners or all of the above...at once!
If this is you, I feel your pain I really do.
But every cloud has a silver lining, and that for me has been stocking up on some cheerful little notebooks to keep me organised – and sane.
It’s hard to get motivated when you’re working from home and more often than not you find yourself chasing your tail more times than above-mentioned four-legged friend but when you have a notebook that offers words of encouragement or a pretty pattern to boost your mood it really does help. Just don’t ever EVER leave it next to a box of crayons!
