Dog went for PC ‘because of uniform’
Ed has pasta & vodka dish on diner’s menu
A MUM whose dog mauled a cop told him: “He doesn’t like people in uniform.”
PC Gavin Jackson had called at Heather Westwell’s house to arrange the return of her stolen car.
Her Shar Pei, also known as a Chinese fighting dog, bit his right arm as he walked through the garden gate in Wythenshawe, Manchester, last October.
He suffered a swollen, bruised and bloodied arm, plus puncture wounds.
Westwell, 37, told the shaken officer: “He doesn’t like anyone in uniform, not even the postman.”
She admitted having a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury.
City magistrates gave her a £120 fine and £117 costs, plus £200 compensation for PC Jackson. The dog has been destroyed.

Also on offer, for £19, is an 8oz rare breed rib eye involving yet more vodka – served with “Bloody Mary fries”. Ed opened the restaurant last year and it is now back in business after lockdown, offering “locally and sustainably sourced food”.
The best of British fare includes Butley Creek oysters from Orford in Suffolk, plus Cornish plaice and Devon crab.
Ed has revealed he was once known as “twodinner Teddy” because of his love of food and he reportedly has a Nando’s “High Five”, or black card, giving him unlimited free chicken.
He was also the 2019 face of Heinz Ketchup and even has a tattoo of the brand. Last month, he said his “addictive personality” led him to binge on food and booze on tour.
