Nav: United the dream ticket

best first time. We need to perform at the maximum.

“There is no second match to make up for a poor performance from the first one. So this is different. It’s knockout football. It’s the only chance.

“And we need to get ready for that reality.”

Wolves’ progression to the quarter-finals is the first time the club has reached that stage of a European competition since 1972.

Back then, they beat Juventus en route to a date with Tottenham in the UEFA Cup Final, with Bill McGarry’s Molineux side falling to a 3-2 defeat over two legs.

Those players of yesteryear were not bringing to a conclusion an elongated season like this one.

FORMER Manchester City star Jesus Navas would love a showdown with old rivals Manchester United in the Europa League final.

But he insists that, for now at least, he is worried only about the threat of Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves as he and his Sevilla pals prepare to meet the boys from the

Black Country in the quarter-finals in Duisburg, Germany on Tuesday.

Navas (right), who won the Premier League and two League Cups with City before returning to Sevilla in 2017 after four years at the Etihad, said: “A final versus United? That would be very special but today I am only interested in Wolves. As a squad, we are very happy after beating Roma — it was a big match and has increased our confidence for the finals in Germany.

“But Wolves are a dangerous rival because they are an English club and any Premier League squad is capable of creating problems for any rival.”
