This is a good time to think about buying… trainers Whether you need a new pair of trainers for your daily walk or you’ve been hankering after some pricey ones for a while, February is the cheapest month of the year to snap some up.
The average price for a pair of trainers in February is £49.
If you bought some in December or January, you’ve potentially paid an average of £10 more, based on previous years’ data.
This week, we reckon UK consumers will be buying… face masks
Although we’ve been obediently donning them since mid-2020, when it became the norm to pop one on when going to the shops or using public transport, the wearing of face masks looks set for another shake-up soon.
In Germany, new regulations have just been brought in that require people to wear medical-grade masks in the supermarket and on buses, trains and trams.
This means that shoppers and passengers will have to invest either in blue surgical masks, or the more expensive and robust FFP2 or N95 masks in order to comply.
While many of us in the UK are still wearing fabric face coverings or scarves, we should take note of what’s happening on the continent.
It’s a bit of a heads-up about what might be coming our way in terms of new Covid regulations.
