Children at risk as drugs gangs return

- BY DAN WARBURTON BY PATRICK HILL

COUNTY lines drugs gangs are “back to full operation” and exploiting youngsters, the Children’s Commissioner warns.

Anne Longfield said the lockdown led to a “small dip” in criminal operations but she wants to see more done to protect children at risk of gang exploitation.

A new report warns teenagers will “keep dying on our streets” without a major overhaul of the response to gang violence.

Ms Longfield called for a “renewed” Government commitment to “prevent them from harm”.

Cops this week revealed they had smashed a huge county lines ring with 72 members jailed.

Officers spent two years infiltrating the operation across 18 counties – using dealers as young as 14.

YOU wait ages for a picture of Prince Harry on a bus and then three come along at once…

The Duke of Sussex looks relaxed as he takes to the top deck in the Los Angeles sunshine to film a chat with comedian pal James Corden.

Harry, 36, was all smiles as a three-man crew accompanied the duo on the open-top sightseeing bus, which left the CBS Studios with a police escort. It is thought the pair were filming for Corden’s US TV programme, The Late Late Show.

The Gavin & Stacey star is a long-time pal of the prince, and he and wife Julia were guests at his 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle, 39. Corden, 42, has spoken of being homesick and has not yet signed up to extend his chat show deal which ends next year. Maybe he could put in a good word for another ex-pat to take over the reins…
