Light at the end of the tunnel dims

Two Weeks To Live

-

The one thing that has kept me going through this mentally challenging lockdown was the hope we would be able to go abroad this summer.

I have been dreaming of sun, sea and sangria.

But my hopes were dashed when Boris announced it was too early to say whether holidays abroad – or even in the UK – are likely to get the go-ahead by then.

With 15 million people already vaccinated, surely the Government should now be able to give us a clear road map to freedom?

This lockdown is hard enough as it stands, so many of us are getting through each day by chanting in our heads: “Hold on because there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”

But with my summer holiday likely to be cancelled, I feel the tunnel is getting ever longer.

Please, someone, show Boris the light.

A FLOCK of 14,000 mixed game birds had to be culled after an outbreak of bird flu on a Scottish farm.

The public are being urged to report dead birds they find nearby but to avoid touching them.

Restrictions have been imposed locally on poultry, eggs and manure after the H5N1 strain of flu was identified at the rearing site in Glenrothes, Fife.

A 3km protection zone has been put in place around the site, as well as a 10km surveillance zone.

The aim is to restrict the movement of poultry and related products.

The Scottish Government says the health risk to humans is very low.

Kim Noakes (Maisie Williams) was young when her father died in dodgy circumstances and her grieving mother Tina (Sian Clifford) took her away to teach her some bizarre survival techniques. As she grew up off-grid, Kim has little clue of how things work, but now it’s time to face the real world. Two Weeks To Live is out on DVD tomorrow and we have 10 copies to give away. Email tv@sundaymirror.co.uk by 6pm on Saturday with LIVE DVD as the subject, plus your name and address. Standard Reach terms apply.
