DISTRAUGHT friends have paid tribute to Brigid Wilkinson, the young mum who died in a road crash on Friday along with her partner Owen McMullan.

Brigid, 21, was described as “always funny and full of life” by the girls she had kept in touch with since her days as a pupil at St Gemma’s in North Belfast.

The mum-of-three died at the scene on Friday evening after the car she was travelling in was involved in a collision in Co Antrim.

Brigid, originally from Ardoyne, moved to Ballycastle in 2014.

The former St Gemma’s pupil kept in touch with her school friends after settling into family life with partner Owen, 25, from Armoy.

The couple, who had been together for seven years, died within minutes of each other at the scene of the twovehicle crash on the Moyarget Road near Ballycastle shortly before 5pm.

The collision involved a blue Honda and silver Ford.

Brigid and Owen leave behind three small children.
