PANTO Dick Whittington is to play for a summer season at The King’s Theatre, Portsmouth, when it reopens on July 23.

Mary, 28, was a pregnant nurse who died after contracting Covid-19.

She worked at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital right up to 32 weeks – before being admitted three weeks later complaining of shortness of breath and testing positive for coronavirus .

Her daughter, named after her mum, was delivered by emergency Caesarean section and survived.

Mary’s father Stephen had died with suspected Covid-19 two weeks earlier.

David Carter, chief executive of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said Mary, originally from Agogo in

Ghana, was a “fantastic nurse and a great example of what we stand for in this trust”.

She left husband, Ernest Boateng, and son AJ, who have since raised more £180,000 in her name. Ernest said his wife had a “pure heart”.

FIREFIGHTERS who used water to tackle the Grenfell Tower inferno could have made a tragic mistake, an expert has told the Government’s inquiry.

Professor Les Woodcock said water would have reacted with aluminium in the block’s cladding to intensify the blaze.

He said carbon dioxide foam should have been used on the north London fire in which 72 people died almost four years ago.

The thermodynamics expert said: “Water should never again be sprayed on fires when the burning material is all or part aluminium.”

He also claims that all flats with cladding should have CO2 extinguishers.

London Fire Brigade declined to comment.

PUSSYCAT Dolls star Jessica Sutta is expecting her first child – but dismisses speculation that it means the band’s long-awaited tour will not go ahead.

The singer and dancer, who wed drummer Mikey Marquart in 2019, is due to have a boy in May and they are discussing names.

Jessica, 38, said: “He feels like an MJ to me, but he could be a

Mikey, a Jesse, a Zion, or maybe he’ll make up his own name when he’s older. I’m just going to have the pleasure of being his mother. I’m going to let him live and be exactly who he wants to be.” She told fans she will “come back 100%”, adding: “This show will go on once this pandemic subsides and it’s safe to do so, hopefully by this summer/fall.
