Emerald Cruises are celebrating the resumption this week of their popular Danube river itineraries, offering savings of up to £1,600 per couple on this year’s cruises if booked before August 31 with a complimentary premium drinks package.
Sailing from Nuremberg on September 6, Emerald Destiny Star-Ship will glide through four countries, calling at Passau, Melk, Dürnstein, Vienna and Bratislava before disembarking at Hungary’s capital, Budapest.
Guided hikes to the fortress of Veste Oberhaus, medieval Dürnstein Castle (where Richard the Lionheart was held prisoner), the baroque gardens of Bratislava and Buda Hill are among the inclusive excursions available.
Alternative trips include guided bike tours from Melk to Dürnstein and Danube Island.
