Sara inspired by ABBA to become a Dancing Queen
SARA Davies said she is channelling her inner ABBA to stay in Strictly.
The Dragons’ Den star, who performed the foxtrot with Aljaz Skorjanec yesterday, revealed he yells the name of her favourite band during rehearsals to keep her motivated.
She says she would be “devastated” if she got knocked out before having the chance to unleash her inhibitions and become a true Dancing Queen.
Viewers will learn which pairing will be the first to leave tonight after the BBC1 show’s first public vote.
Opening up ahead of last night’s second performance, Sara, 37, said husband Simon, 41, isn’t jealous of her handsome trainer and dance partner.
Aljaz, 31, married to the show’s Janette Manrara, 37, has bonded with him over beers and football.
Sara told the Sunday Mirror: “If I get knocked out because I couldn’t get myself to lose my inhibitions I’ll be so distraught and disappointed in myself.
“When else in your life do you get 60/70 hours a week to learn a new technique? The feeling of doing the dancing is just pure elation.”
Aljaz is spending much of his time near Sara’s family home in Teesside.
They start dance training at 6am, so she has time to work and pick up her sons Oliver, seven, and Charlie, four, from school. The craft supplies entrepreneur, originally from Co Durham, said: “I feel like I want to do well for Aljaz. I don’t want to let him down. I’m just a reflection of how good his choreography and teaching is.”
And she admitted to begging the wardrobe department for a corset, saying: “Just give me a waist – being able to breathe is not the priority.”
