ALL SAID AND DONE FOR ANTONIO

-

BY TOM HOPKINSON

SAID BENRAHMA reckons he is living the dream in his blossoming relationship with Michail Antonio.

Benrahma has scored four goals in eight games with two assists from his position tucked in behind Antonio, who has bagged six goals and three assists.

Their performances had propelled West Ham into seventh coming into the weekend, two places ahead of Brentford,

Benrahma’s old team, who they come up against today.

Benrahma said: “The relationship with Michail has developed naturally on the training pitch and now we have a good understanding.

“I know where he is going to run and hope this partnership on the pitch lasts a long time.

“Any player in the world would love to play behind Michail because he’s a fantastic striker and I hope we continue this form for the rest of the season.”

Not that Benrahma will be mapping out any milestones that he and Antonio must get to.

He added: “I don’t put too much pressure on myself to set targets.

“The most important thing is the team, so whether I hit targets or not, as long as the team is playing well and we finish in a good position, that’s all that matters.” Benrahma struggled in his first season in the Premier League following his move – originally on loan – across London, but now he is enjoying life in the East End.

He added: “Last season, we had a great campaign and this year we only strengthened during the summer, so, hopefully, there will be better things to come.

“We are going to be working hard every day to improve on last season’s results.”
