Hol horror as Brit woman plunges 120ft to her death
Mum, 25, dies after balcony fall
A BRITISH mum died after falling from a hotel balcony while on holiday in Tenerife with her five-year-old daughter in a suspected suicide.
Kerry Roberts, 25, from Bristol, died instantly after plunging from the 12th floor of the high-rise complex in the early hours of Friday morning.
Her ex-partner, 33, has been arrested by Spanish police over events leading up to the tragedy.
Officers are understood to be examining CCTV footage of Kerry and her ex in the hours before she died at around 2am.
A spokesman for Kerry’s family in Bristol told the Mirror: “Kerry had sorted her life out. She was happy with her life. She loved her boyfriend Tommy very much.”
Kerry’s heartbroken boyfriend Tommy Lane posted a picture of the couple on Facebook adding: “R.I.P babe im going to miss you so much... Fly high and proud with the angels. I love you so much, im so heart broken.”
Kerry’s aunt Joy added: “My gorgeous beautiful niece taken so young, how much more tragedy can this family take?”
Dave Jeal, chaplain of Bristol Rovers, said the death had “rocked the community”. He added: “Kerry’s mum is in bits. The family are devastated.”
The victim, mum to a boy and girl, is believed to have arrived in Tenerife at the end of May with her ex-partner and their daughter. They were on holiday with her ex’s father and his partner. A well-placed source said Civil Guard officers were treating the case as a probable suicide. The source said: “A man was arrested because a woman had died in strange circumstances and officers needed to determine what, if any, level of involvement he may have had in that. “The police investigation has subsequently determined he was not in the same spot as the woman when she fell to her death.” The British couples were staying in neighbouring f lats at Apartments Paraiso del Sur, in Adeje, in the south of the Canary island. Kerry’s body was found by a security guard who was alerted by her ex-partner and his dad. Paramedics could do nothing to save her when they arrived. The arrest took place after the three British adults were interviewed and Guardia Civil investigators examined CCTV footage of their return to the flats. It is not yet clear when a post-mortem exam will take place. A spokesman for a local emergency response centre said: “We were called to reports a woman had plunged from the 12th floor of an apartment block overlooking Playa Paraiso in Adeje. The Civil Guard took charge of the investigation.” A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are offering assistance to the family.”
