AS these amazing pictures show, soap pin-up Ryan Thomas is celebrating a double transformation in his life after quitting Corrie.
He’s got himself a fantastic ripped body in less than 12 weeks after a fitness challenge with his brothers. And he’s also landed a stunning new love.
The star, who filmed his final scenes as the Street’s Jason Grimshaw last month, showed off both during a break in Ibiza last week.
Ryan, 32 last Friday, was snapped by the pool cosying up to Lana Martin who he met on a night out in Manchester.
The pair have dated several months despite digital marketing consultant Lana, 25, living in Edinburgh and Ryan moving to London, 415 miles away.
Sources close to the couple say their long-distance relationship is thriving, as our exclusive pictures confirm. One said: “The attraction was instant and they’ve really hit it off. They have a few friends in common who introduced them and they’ve not looked back since.
“Obviously they’ve had to put real effort in to make sure they can see each other, but it’s been worthwhile. They started off keeping it low key, but Lana was with Ryan at the Soap Awards last month, so they’re ready for the next stage.”
It wasn’t only the Spanish hotel pool rippling as the two larked about in the water – Ryan’s new muscular physique was making a splash too after going head to head with brothers Adam, 27, and Scott.
The challenge was to get into shape in less than three months. Our source said: “They’re all very competitive, so you couldn’t keep them out of the gym. Now Ryan’s in the best shape of his life.” Ryan enlisted the help of personal trainer Adam Croft from Ultimate Performance. He lives with Ryan’s ex Tina O’Brien – Corrie’s SarahLouise Platt and mum of the star’s daughter Scarlett – but they have all remained close friends.
And Adam was happy to help Ryan with gruelling training s sessions including b barbells deadlifts, squats, bench p presses and ‘ farmer’s walks’ carrying h heavy weights.
Adam said: “It is really important for Ryan to be in t the shape of his l life as he is looking for new roles.”
Ryan spent 15 y years on the cobbles, but b believes the time is right for new challenges.
The source added: “There are a few things being lined up. He loved Corrie but this is an exciting time for him, and he’s ready to try new things.”
