Desperate Hitman: I have nothing left

- BY DAN WARBURTON AND SCOTT HESKETH

FEARS are growing for boxing legend Ricky Hatton after he sent a desperate message to supporters, saying, “I have nothing left, absolutely nothing”.

The former world champ – known as The Hitman – seemed to be on the ropes after partying in Irish bars in Tenerife, Spain. He tweeted the worrying message during an online meltdown, sparking concern among his loved ones.

Fans sent tweets of support, with one saying: “You are the people’s champ, Ricky.” But close friends are concerned Hatton is struggling to cope after a string of bust-ups with fiancee Jennifer Dooley, 35.

Parents Carol and Ray launched a frantic bid to contact his friends in Spain and ensure his safety.

When asked by the Sunday Mirror if the tweet was a cause for concern, Ray, from Hyde, near Manchester, said: “It’s only natural that it would be.”

He added “It’s what people are feeling at certain times. It’s one of those things. He’s fine. We know via other people who went out to Tenerife, that he’s OK.” Pals have said Jennifer is tired of Hatton’s partying and has ended their relationship.

Recently, the fighter, 37, has been seen at a hotel near the £3million home in Hyde he shares with her and children Millie, five, and Fearne, two.

A spokesman last night said: “Ricky would like to confirm he is OK.”
