Jackson doc’s fury as family blast book

- BY SIMON BOYLE Showbiz Editor & STEVE BRENNER

MICHAEL Jackson’s doctor has hit back after the star’s family slammed his explosive book.

Personal physician Conrad Murray faced a barrage of abuse from relatives and fans over his revelations of life with the singer.

Jacko’s brother Jermaine labelled the book “the desperate deflections of a guilty, odious man”. And the singer’s daughter Paris, 18, said: “The fact people are actually believing a coldblooded murderer is beyond me.”

But Murray, who was jailed for involuntary manslaughter in 2009, claimed the family never really knew Jackson and regarded him only as an “ATM machine”.

The 63-year-old fumed: “They weren’t around when I was with Michael, they don’t know what I went through. They destroyed their brother and son, and are pinning all the misery on me.

“They wanted all this money. He was the banker for the family. He was the ATM machine. They didn’t care about him.”

He also dismissed Jermaine as “an uneducated lightweight” undeserving of his time.

The medic’s memoirs, This Is It, have become a bestseller since they were serialised by the Sunday Mirror three weeks ago.

The book included claims that the singer dressed as a clown to romp with prostitutes and asked his daughter to help apply cream to bleach his skin.

Murray claims to have withheld other information to protect Jacko’s three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, saying: “If they want it I will share it with them.”
