MY PERFECT SUNDAY

- By Katie Piper bigsummerbrushup.co.uk

MY husband Richie and I like doing outdoorsy things with our daughter Belle at the weekend. If you’ve ever tried being stuck in the house with a two-year-old, you’ll know that outdoor activities are important.

We live quite near a forest so we’ve got a tricycle with a handle on. Belle goes on the trike and we take it in turns to sprint with her so we can get some exercise too.

Richie and I used to go to the gym at the weekend before we had Belle but now it’s a bit more difficult. I’m someone who hates relaxing even at weekends. I could never do yoga or meditation! But sometimes Belle just wants to cuddle on the couch, watching Peppa Pig, which is lovely.

Richie and I love cooking. On a Sunday evening, I cook a big dinner so we can all sit down together. I bath Belle and brush her teeth before putting her to bed. Richie and I share parenting, but it’s lovely to be around in the evenings. Belle can’t reach the sink so she stands on a step and I ask her to roar like a dinosaur so I can clean her teeth properly.

Then it’s a quick browse on Twitter and Instagram before finally falling asleep.

YOUR PERFECT SUNDAY

I’d love to spend an entire day listening to all the old records I’ve collected over the years but never have time for. The kids would be out so wouldn’t disturb me and I’d have a big glass of wine and reminisce about my youth.
