Norfolk break is so coast effective

-

It is well equipped with a fitted kitchen, large flatscreen TV, huge L-shaped sofa and even central heating.

There are two bedrooms – one a decent-sized double with an en suite bathroom, while the other has two single beds with separate shower and loo across the hallway.

The mattresses and pillows were excellent and afforded us a very good night’s sleep, while the generously sized double duvet helped lower the risk of conflict over alleged “cover hogging”.

The caravan felt incredibly spacious, light and airy.

And a welcome pack of essential food supplies and a bottle of prosecco was a very nice touch.

While there is plenty to do on site, the lure of Norfolk’s attractions will soon have you venturing off.

And you don’t need to travel far to find plenty of action geared toward young families, such as the Sea Life centre in Yarmouth, the Pleasurewood Hills theme park near Lowestoft and Pettitts Animal Adventure Park in Reedham.

We took Archie to Pettitts and Sea Life, both just a short drive away, and found them ideal for keeping our lively youngster well and truly happy.

He especially loved the selection of slides at Pettitts and the miniature train ride around the site.

Sea Life, meanwhile, boasted an incredible array of fish and reptiles, plus a small colony of penguins which Archie was overjoyed to watch being fed.

And of course you have beautiful, relatively uncrowded beaches close by too.

Burgh Castle village is also home to the remains of a Roman fort, though admittedly historic sites are not necessarily hugely interesting for a three-year-old.

Yarmouth itself is an impressive old seaside town with a smart, clean and wellkept promenade which features a funfair, mini-golf, pitch and putt and wonderful fish and chip shops.

The friendly staff at Cherry Tree Holiday Park could not have been more helpful during our stay and were only too happy to provide bundles of information about the local attractions on offer to make sure we made the most of our trip.

And of course, if you’ve chosen a good location, you’re already halfway to staycation jollification. english-heritage. org.uk pleasurewoodhills.com pettittsadventurepark. co.uk
