JEZ’S LABOUR ‘A SAFE SPACE’ FOR VILE JEW HATERS
JEREMY Corbyn’s Labour Party is today branded “institutionally antisemitic” in a devastating report by MPs.
The leader is rapped for not doing enough to stop it giving “a safe space for those with vile attitudes towards Jewish people”.
And his new shadow Attorney General Baroness Chakrabarti’s own investigation into Labour antisemitism is roundly rubbished.
The former head of human rights group Liberty is heavily criticised for accepting a Labour peerage and joining Mr Corbyn’s inner circle, which has “thrown into question” the inquiry’s independence.
Labour, Tory and SNP MPs on the Commons Home Affairs Committee are united in their savaging of Mr Corbyn. Tory acting chair Tim Loughton said: “This report does not pull its punches. It was agreed unanimously by the committee. Antisemitism is a virus that is too easily spread.”
Labour’s former Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna added: “We would be putting our heads in the sand if we denied the existence of antisemitism among a minority.” The report, Antisemitism in the UK, says: “The failure of the Labour Party consistently and effectively to deal with antisemitic incidents risks lending force to allegations that elements are institutionally antisemitic.”
The MPs call for sweeping reforms of Labour’s disciplinary procedures, saying the baroness’s probe did not tackle its failures. And they criticise Mr Corbyn for his “lack of consistent leadership” made worse by the party’s inability to cope with people facing accusations. The report adds that Jewish MPs have endured “appalling levels of abuse”. The Campaign against Antisemitism said: “We could not have said it better ourselves.” Tory MP Mike Freer said Mr Corbyn now had to take “concrete action”. In a rambling response, Mr Corbyn accused the committee of a “disproportionate emphasis on Labour” and said the report “unfairly criticises” the baroness.
