- Special feature BY COLIN YOUNG

Alan Shearer Wayne Rooney Andrew Cole Frank Lampard Thierry Henry Robbie Fowler Michael Owen Jermain Defoe 260 194 187 177 175 163 150 150 VICTOR ANICHEBE was Sunderland’s hero as they completed back- to- back victories to move off the bottom of the Premier League. Sunderland’s progress was briefly halted by a floodlight failure as darkness fell on the Stadium of Light, but Hull were no match for their relegation rivals. Only the dismissal of Papy Djilobodji for a second bookable o f f enc e in stoppage time dampened proceedings after the club’s generator kicked in to allow the match to be finished after a nineminute break.

Boss David Moyes said: “When the lights go out don’t know the reason. I wondered if we had spent all our money but not paid the lecky bill.

“We were one-up and if it had to be replayed it would have been hard to take but thankfully it was bright enough to play the game and Mike was very good.”

The game had been dubbed “Charlie Hurley Day” as the club honoured one of its greatest players.

And it was a man emerging as a modern-day legend Jermain Defoe, who gave Sunderland the start they wanted when he netted his 150th Premier League goal, running on to Duncan Watmore’s 34th- minute flick-on and before firing into the bottom corner.

Anichebe’s double sealed the deal, his influence on the team growing with every game.
