‘We still have Wil to win it’

- BY ALEX CROOK

HARRY ARTER believes that Bournemouth can end Arsenal’s 18-match unbeaten run – even without loan hero Jack Wilshere.

England ace Wilshere has been a revelation since making his shock loan move to the south coast on transfer deadline day – but he cannot play against his parent club.

Fellow midfielder Arter said: “Jack is an unbelievable player. He is one of England’s best midfielders when he’s fit, maybe the best.

“He’s certainly fit at the moment. He’s shown his quality in what people might consider a lesser side for him.

“Until now people could say he’s been at Arsenal and it’s easy in a team like that, but he’s come here and is performing very well.

“Not having him in the team at Arsenal is a blow but with hard work and a bit of luck we’ll get a result. All the pressure is on them – if we can keep it tight defensively and stay in the game we can hurt them.”

Wilshere risked the wrath of Arsenal fans this week by claiming he wanted his beloved Gunners to LOSE.

And Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says today’s game at the Emirates will be tough viewing for Wilshere – IF he decides to make the trip.

Howe said: “Jack has been getting better with each week and it is unfortunate he can’t play.

“We are very thankful to Arsenal for loaning Jack to us. Hopefully they’ll see we’re doing right by Jack and he’s enjoying his experience here.

“It’s a good rule [not playing against the parent club], but it will be awkward for Jack and we will see if he wants to travel with us.

“He’s been at Arsenal a long time. It will be difficult for him to watch.”
