Harry’s Walk in Ascot park!

UNOWHATIME­ANHARRY delivered another knockout blow in the Long Walk Hurdle at a foggy Ascot yesterday.

The Harry Fry-trained gelding made it seven straight wins to assume outright favouritis­m for the World Hurdle at a top-priced 3-1.

Successful in the Albert Bartlett last season, the eight-year-old is likely to return to Cheltenham for the Cleeve Hill next month and then the stayers’ championsh­ip at the Festival.

Barry Geraghty, who was riding the well-backed 6-5 favourite for owner JP McManus, said: “He did it well. He had to work harder than at Newbury last time, so it was a very pleasing performanc­e. “He’s very good and keeps getting better. He only does what he has to, which probably means he’s got even more class than he’s letting on.”

Fry intends sitting down with Geraghty and McManus before finalising plans for the rest of the season, but indicated that the two trips to Cheltenham were likely to happen.

“The obvious races are the Cleeve on Trials Day and the World Hurdle,” said the Dorset trainer. “He’s come through this well and the dream goes on.

“We will enjoy this first. It’s a Grade One in its own right and a memorable day for sure.

“It means a lot, extraordin­ary really when you consider he started off last season winning a couple of handicaps.
