GEORGE WAS NOT A LONER IN LAST DAYS

- BY JANINE YAQOOB

A FLOOD of visitors descended on tragic pop star George Michael’s home in the days before he died, proving the star was NOT a loner.

Exclusive pictures show at least 10 people arriving at the large detached house in the lead-up to Christmas Day, when the singer was found dead.

The snaps emerged as police try to piece together George’s final days, amid fears he may have died from an overdose of illegal or prescription drugs.

The pictures appear to show preparations for a normal, busy Christmas – contrary to reports the star had become a recluse – with workmen and an Ocado deliveryman turning up at his riverside home in Goring, Oxfordshire. As well as boyfriend Fadi Fawaz – who has since been quizzed by police for five hours – members of George’s team, his staff and friends also called at the rural retreat. But 53-year-old George was never pictured outside the house. Some callers appeared solemnfaced, including a man in his 50s pictured looking upset two days before George was found dead. Housekeepers were seen going in and out of the property several times a day and a man was spotted fixing an outdoor light. A number of friends popped by, including a man who arrived with a gift bag from a luxury beauty boutique. A woman was also seen turning up with a delivery of flowers.

A postman delivered gift bags and the Ocado food shop suggested George was preparing for a festive feast.

His godson Roman Kemp – son of Spandau Ballet star Martin and his wife Shirlie, who was George’s backing vocalist in Wham! – told how the singer planned a Boxing Day meal before his death.

BUSY

Speaking before the tragedy, Roman said: “We’re going to George’s house on Boxing Day. To me, you do the Christmas rounds and you see all those people who are big influences on my life.”

Fadi was spotted at George’s house on Christmas Eve. He was seen taking a trip to the local cafe and grabbing a coffee and some food before going back into the house. A source said: “It was very busy at the house in the days before George died.

“A number of people were coming and going, delivering various items.

“It looked like they were preparing for a gathering – which makes George’s death even more tragic. He definitely wasn’t alone. He looked to be surrounded by many people who cared about him.”
