BRADY: I DON’T NEED MOTIVATION FOR No.5
TOM BRADY started the season on a four-game suspension for his part in Deflategate.
Today he will touch down in Houston, seven days away from becoming the most decorated player of all time.
And the man who imposed that suspension on him – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell – could end up handing Brady the Lombardi Trophy after next week’s Super Bowl against Atlanta.
But the New England Patriots quarterback claims he has other reasons for wanting to win his fifth Super Bowl. Brady, 39, said: “My team-mates are all the motivation that I need.
“It takes a lot of work to get to this point and nothing that has happened in the past is going to help us win this game. What’s going to help us win this game is being ready to go.
“That’s enough motivation for me.”
Brady (right) knows however, that it will take more than motivation to beat the high-scoring Falcons. It will take the Patriots best game of the season. He added: “They’ve got a lot of good players, a lot of youth, a lot of speed. They’re very wellcoached, very disciplined. “They play aggressive, they’re a very tough, hard-nosed team. “We’re going to need to play really well in all phases of the game. “You don’t get to this point and be able to go out there and play an average game and expect to win. So it’ll be great to be at our best.”
