It’s Mor of the same with Lions

- STEVE STAMMERS

STEVE MORISON is in no doubt about the approach that Millwall will adopt at the New Den as they look to claim another Premier League scalp.

Bournemouth were despatched in the third round. Now come Watford – and Millwall will set about their task with the same energy and commitment that brought an emphatic 3-0 win against the previous top-flight opposition.

The philosophy, according to Morison, is a simple one. He said: “We are going to run people, fight, bully and do everything we can to win.

“That is what they are going to get.”

Ally that determination with the intimidation generated by a passionate South London crowd and Watford will know they have been in a fearsome scrap.

And Morison, 33, believes the squad rotation used by Premier League clubs in cup matches can count against them.

It certainly did against the Cherries when manager Eddie Howe made mass changes, which played into the Lions’ hands.

He added: “We don’t know how they are going to play – but they know how we are going to play.

“We play it simple and we are very good at what we do.

“You are up against nicer people who don’t want to get into a physical battle with you and want to get under your skin and give you a row on the pitch.

“Bournemouth were like that, but we played it simple.”

Morison (above) has been known to give as good as he gets if he has any abuse from the crowd – home and away.

The striker insisted: “If someone has a pop at me, then they have to be willing to take a pop back.

“If they don’t like it then don’t have a go at me.

“At Charlton the other week, they wanted my family to die.

“You just have to take it on the chin.”
