‘I Conte stop my passion’

- BY TOM HOPKINSON

ANTONIO CONTE has admitted that he’s embarrassed whenever he sees footage of his madcap touchline antics.

But the livewire Chelsea boss reckons the day he stays put in the dugout is the day his club and their supporters should really start to worry.

Conte endeared himself even further to the Stamford Bridge faithful last weekend when he ran down the touchline and dived into the crowd during his side’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal.

He said: “It’s not easy for me to see me in this situation because I don’t like to see me again after the game.

“Sometimes I’m a bit ashamed to show all this passion.

“It’s my enthusiasm, but I should show it in a good way, not in a bad way.

“I live the game in this way not only in England, but if you remember during the Euros, if you remember in my past with Juventus, when I started my career… I live the game with great passion and enthusiasm.

“Sometimes it’s very difficult to keep this passion under control – the moment you see me staying seated, you must be worried.

“Above all, my club must be worried, because it means my passion is finished.”

Conte also reckons that even though Cesc Fabregas can’t get past N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic into the current Blues starting lineup, he is still a “genius”.

Conte said: “Cesc is a top player. I can talk about him in the same way as I do about Andrea Pirlo.

“Even if Cesc doesn’t run 100metres in 10 seconds, I can allow him this, because he’s a genius with the ball. His velocity is in his mind.”
