Stand down the Breastapo!

QMy sister is having trouble breastfeeding and is considering giving it up.

I have told her how important it is that she sticks at it – it’s the single best thing she could be doing for her baby daughter.

I did it. Our other sister did it. She should be able to do it as well, shouldn’t she? Hey, hey! Having a baby and struggling to feed it can be stressful enough without your sisters leaning over your shoulder monitoring your performance criticising at every opportunity. Plus I am not entirely sure it is the “single best thing” she could be doing for her baby. Loving and nurturing her comes first! Get off your sister’s case. Yes, we all know breast is best but sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you have to do something different. How about a bit of sisterly love instead of judgmental nagging?
