AAron storey has always struggled with his confidence and has a selfconfessed “dad bod”.

But after seeing an ad for a dudeoir shoot on Facebook, he decided taking the plunge might be just the thing to boost his self-esteem.

The 27-year-old from Beccles, suffolk, says: “i’m a chef with a sevenyear-old stepdaughter and a four-month-old baby girl, so life is pretty full on.

“i’m not a very confident person and i have what people call a ‘dad bod’.

“Yet i hoped doing the pictures would make me more comfortable with myself.

“i was nervous but after the first couple of shots i started to feel more relaxed.

“You do worry what people will think, but what’s the worst that could happen? They might laugh a bit but they’ll soon move on. “The whole thing has given me more self-belief – not everyone would be brave enough to do it, but i was!” Wife Kimi, 30, was initially concerned. she says: “i was worried people might make negative comments to knock what little confidence he has. “There is more pressure on men to look good these days but they aren’t taken seriously if they have any body issues. People assume they don’t care. “so i think he’s very brave to be open about his lack of confidence in this way. i hope that he gets loads of positive feedback that will start to make him feel better about himself.” Chef Arron and, inset, wife Kimi RICHARD Chilvers had worked in the oil industry for 25 years but as the big 5-0 loomed he decided to change his lifestyle – and became a personal trainer.

Now with his body in better shape than ever, Richard, 49, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, decided to do the boudoir shoot as a thank you to wife Jo, 44.

He says: “I’m in better shape than ever. So when I saw an advert for boudoir shoots for men I decided to book myself in as a way of saying thank you for all the support and inspiration Jo has given me. We’ve been married nearly 20 years and around three years ago we were both thoroughly fed up – overweight, out of shape, constantly tired and just not making the most of life. I was finishing richard on run. inset: with wife Jo a 25-year career in the oil and gas sector and it was the right time for us to make a big change. Now we spend most of our free time at the gym or out on the bikes.” Richard, who also lectures in electrical engineering at a local college, adds: “I was a bit nervous in the shoot at first but I actually really enjoyed it. I would never have done it three years ago, but now I’m feeling more confident.” Health and wellness coach Jo initially thought it was “very bizarre”, but loved the final photos. She says: “When I first heard he’d taken his clothes off, I was mortified! But now I’m so proud. He’s come a long way – not just looks but the way he feels about himself.” It’s even encouraged Jo to maybe return the favour. She laughs: “Before I would never have considered doing my own boudoir shoot, but now it doesn’t seem like such a crazy idea!”
