‘I’m like an old woman’ Nic is blooming at 50

She is the fabulous Queen of Cannes who will be celebrating her 50th next month.

But I nearly choked on my croissant when I heard Nicole Kidman plans to mark her birthday by curling up under the covers and ordering takeaways.

A source tells me: “Nicole has told friends she doesn’t want to have a big party, she just wants to be with her family at their home in Nashville. She wants to watch her favourite films, Gone With The Wind and Bad Santa, curled up in bed with her kids.”

Nicole has also told how she loves going home to her garden.

She says: “I love flowers. I meditate, I pray but I garden as well. I sound like such an old woman but I love that my children go, ‘Look at your roses, Mama’ – and they are my roses.

“I watch them die, I watch them bloom and we smell them, we choose which rose to plant.

“And it is very difficult to grow roses in Nashville.”

What a rooted celebrity. Jess Glynne tells me she is going to go “wild” in Cannes this year. We caught up on Warner boss Len Blavatnik’s super yacht Odessa, where she performed some of her best hits.

It was a warm-up for her gig on the same yacht tonight, where she will be entertaining the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Mick Jagger, who were the stars of Len’s party last year.
