SPIDERMEN ARE SPIN IT TO WIN IT!
WAKEFIELD coach Chris Chester warned there is more to come from Super League’s overachievers – after his Spidermen cast their web over disappointing Widnes.
Playing in special one-off Marvel comic shirts, Trinity were 16-0 ahead at the break and overwhelmed a Vikings side that fielded Rangi Chase for the first time.
Chase was completely overshadowed by the likes of two-try Scott Grix, while the entire Wakefield pack was outstanding.
Trinity are now just two points off the top four and in the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup, despite operating on the smallest budget in the top flight.
Chester said: “I don’t think we’ve quite hit our straps yet – there’s a lot more in us. We’ve put ourselves in a real good position to finish top six.”
Widnes coach Denis Betts added: “We were good in patches but poor in others.”
