Mart sees video red

VIDEO technology was used for the first time in an international yesterday as Argentina’s Lautaro Martinez was sent off against England in the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

The striker saw red after a video panel alerted referee Abdulla Hassan Mohamed to alleged elbowing in a touchline tussle with Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori.

The ref reviewed footage of the challenge and gave Martinez his marching orders on 76 minutes, with the Young Lions scoring from the spot late on to win the Group A opener 3-0.
