SANCHEZ DEMANDS SCARE BAYERN

-

has told the Bundesliga champions that he wants a £21.85million–a–year package to move to Munich.

That works out at an incredible £420,000-a-week following the fall of the pound against the Euro – and would wreck Bayern’s strict wage structure.

The Bavarian club’s hierarchy has been shocked by the figures being quoted to land the 28-year-old forward.

And the growing belief in Munich is that Sanchez wants to join City and is trying to force Arsenal’s hand.

The Gunners will demand £50million for Sanchez – and are adamant that they will hold him for the final year of his contract rather than sell him to a Premier League rival.

But that makes no financial sense.

City have prised Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure and Bacary Sagna away from the Emirates in recent years and are waiting for Bayern to drop out of the running before making a move.

It would be a huge coup for City to beat the German giants to Sanchez’s signature. e.

Bayern bosses have e been the Blues’ biggest critics since the Abu Dhabi takeover in 2008.

Last summer, when Munich were negotiating with Robert Lewandowski about a new contract, Chief Executive KarlHeinz Rummenigge said: “We will not be paying the kind of wages on offer at Manchester City and Paris St Germain. We are paying some very good wages, wage but those clubs are payingpa crazy figures.” Ironically, City believe they can land Sanchez on a £300,000-a-week deal. ■ SPORTING LISBON havehav joined a pack of clubs who want to take Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts on loan next season. A £12.75m signing from Fulham in the summer of 2015, Roberts (left) has spent the last 18 months at Celtic and helped the unbeaten Bhoys win the Scottish Treble last season.

Brendan Rodgers wants to take the 20-year-old back to Parkhead permanently, but City are demanding a profit on the player.

And Sporting have now registered their interest in taking Roberts on loan – although they face competition from Nice, Schalke and Hoffenheim.
