I implore you to not let my son’s killer back on the streets again
Dad’s moving letter urging rethink on Kenneth Noye open prison bid
measure he can to get out of jail. Each time has been stressful and distressing for us as a family as it brings back so many traumatic memories. After serving 17 years in prison, he has been recommended to be moved to an open prison.
I implore you to block this move. Letting this man out on to the British streets again would be a bad mistake.
He has already killed two people – one a serving police officer, John Fordham, who was stabbed to death in the grounds of Noye’s home in 1985 as police investigated his involvement in the Brinks Mat Security robbery.
He got away with that after pleading self-defence – even though Mr Fordham was stabbed 14 times. He tried the same defence at court over Stephen’s murder. But it didn’t work this time. If he is allowed to go to an Open Prison, he will abscond. He is desperate to get out of jail. He will be off to some bolthole in Spain or somewhere. He won’t hang around in an open prison being allowed out on shopping trips or visits. I have no doubt he has money stashed away and he will be whisked away by his supporters and live out the rest of his life in luxury somewhere.
We have never wanted revenge for Stephen’s murder – all we’ve ever wanted was justice.
Sadly my wife, Stephen’s mum Toni, passed away last year.
But if she was here, she would want me to fight every step of the way.
Life should mean life. Toni always said the only way she wanted to see him come out of prison was in a wooden box. Our family and Danielle’s family have had to suffer a life sentence while Noye has carried on with his own life. He chose his own path that day. Why should we have to worry even more knowing that he is out of prison? He has never shown any remorse. People keep telling me what a model prisoner he comes across as.
Well people who are desperate for something will do anything to get it.
A leopard cannot change its spots and Noye should not be allowed out of prison while he is alive.
