MEL B’s mum has told of her despair at being cut off from her troubled daughter, saying: “Wish I could be there.”

Andrea Brown is desperate to be at her side after the death of the singer’s father Martin from cancer in March aged 63.

But she’s been barred from travelling to the US because of invalid paperwork.

She revealed her agony after grieving Mel B – in a bitter divorce battle with Stephen Belafonte – tweeted a snap of her dad.

The caption with it said: “I just wanted one last hug and for you to know how much I really love you. #ripdad #daddysgirl #mostimportant maninmylife #inoyourwithmestill”

Andrea retweeted the post, adding: “Of course he knew. I’m sorry it’s so painful… wish I could be there.”

She previously tweeted: “Tears at what Melanie’s going through and the embassy wouldn’t let me fly out.”

A source added: “It’s been going on for several weeks now and it doesn’t seem like Andrea will be getting to LA any time soon.

“Mel is going through so much. Her divorce, raising a family on her own, and the loss of her dad. She wants her mum there.”

For years, mum-of-three Mel, 42, had a rift with her parents and sibling Danielle, with Stephen once labelling them the “cut off crew”.

Mel patched things up with her dad earlier this year. It was believed to be a crucial factor in her decision to file for divorce. Martin took an instant dislike to her second husband. Nearly four years to the day later, his leg was crushed between two cars. The Transform Trauma Appeal needs £1million to carry on trying to save the 50 people a day in the UK who die needlessly from trauma such as accidents and violent attacks suffered by the rapper.

Pro Green added: “When I got stabbed, fast forward eight years and I never thought I’d be able to do something to give back to the department that put me back together.

The gig is exciting because we might be getting in the studio beforehand, so there might be really new tracks on the night.”
