Tragic Nesta dies after KO by shop door

-

A WOMAN of 87 died eight days after being knocked down by automatic doors at a supermarket, an inquest heard.

Retired cleaner Nesta Thomas suffered blood clots while she lay immobile in hospital with a spine injury.

She had been thrown to the ground when the hinged doors shut against her at her local Morrisons in Caernarfon, Gwynedd.

Her daughter Christine Hughes, who was with her, said: “She couldn’t move and said she had done something to her back.”

Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said: “The incident was an accident.” Verdict: Accidental death.
