Driver caught on phone had six kids in car

-

POLICE stopped a woman for using her phone while driving and found nine people crammed in the car, including six children.

One of the kids was in the Toyota Corolla’s boot.

Eileen Ward, 38, said her family were travellers and heading to Ireland when stopped in Dewsbury, West Yorks, on Thursday.

Ward, of no address, got six penalty points and a £315 fine after admitting a motoring charge at Kirklees magistrates’ court.

District Judge Michael Fanning told her: “Driving a car overloaded is dangerous but then to be distracted by using your mobile phone at the same time makes even it worse.”
