RILING GIGGS
Star’s retort as fan goads him
SOCCER legend Ryan Giggs hit back at a Manchester City fan who mocked him about his fling with his sister-in-law.
They clashed as the Manchester United ace stepped off a train.
The fan leaned out of the train window and shouted: “Where you off Giggsy, slipping your brother’s missus one?” Giggs (below), 43, replied: “Pardon, you going to your council house?”
A clip of the exchange at Stockport station after last Sunday’s Community Shield was posted on a Man City fan page on Twitter. Giggs’ reply led to claims he was being dismissive of people living in council houses. One fan wrote: “Interesting comment, what does he think of the working classes/football fans?” But another pointed out that the Council House was the name United fans gave to City’s Etihad stadium, which was leased from the council after the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. On Friday, dad-of-two Giggs’ wife Stacey, 39, was granted a divorce in London. Their 10-year marriage was rocked by his flings, including an eight-year affair with brother Rhodri’s wife Natasha.
